Being in the wedding industry, styled shoots are a must! These shoots allow you to really let your business shine in the way you imagine it to be. It allows us vendors to let our creative wings really open up. The thing that really sucks is most styled shoots aren't honest. They are mocked up scenes with models. When Sarah, from Val and Sarah, contacted us about doing an honest shoot, I couldn't resist. That's when the Wedding Giveaway started!
The Winning Entry came from Megan and Wade,
“Wowie! This giveaway sounds amazing! My hubby and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage on May 11th. This would be so dear and near to me and just a complete dream come true because we never had a wedding. Wade joined the Navy in 2003, shortly before we met. Nine months after meeting, we’re in a courthouse with my mom as a witness, getting hitched. We put our big wedding ideas on the back burner, deciding that when the time arose to plan one in the great state of Texas, we’d do it. Well here we are ten years, various cross country moves, and three kids later. I am loving every second of this beautiful love story that we have, and I can’t tell you how giddy it makes me to think I could be wearing my first official wedding dress to celebrate our beautiful ten years, how very magical. A true blessing.”
And with that I give to you the vow renewal through Megan & Wade's eyes.
How did you and Wade meet?
"We met at a party. I was actually seeing one of Wade's friends at the time, and invited his friend to a party I was at. And he brought his buddy along, Wade. Needless to say, I was completely smitten by the friend. I gave Wade my number that night. And we hung out everyday since. And the rest is history. "
What song did you choose to walk down the aisle and why?
"It was 'Out of the Woods' by Nickel Creek. I chose this song because when Wade left for Pensacola to start bootcamp for the Navy, 6 months into dating, he made me a mixed cd with different songs that reminded him of me. And this was one of them. It was the first time I ever heard this song and I've loved it ever since. It holds a special memory and meaning for both of us. And unbeknownst to Wade, I chose it to walk down the aisle to him."
What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?
"This is so hard because every detail was absolutely amazing. I think if I had to choose, it would be the flowers. Purple is my favorite color. And my bouquet was a beautiful masterpiece dripping with various shades of plum. And the flower crown made my jaw drop. I couldn't have picked those flowers out better myself. Just exquisite. Wade really liked the old pick-up truck and the oversized "LOVE" letters. It definitely brought a cool factor to the whole thing."
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
"My favorite moment was watching everyone dance and just have a good time. I remember just looking around, at the most important people in Wade and I's lives, and just taking it all in. Everyone had an absolute ball and it was an honor to have them there with us. I've never seen my parents so happy, especially my dad. The love that was there that day makes my heart swell. Wade's favorite moment would be when I said my vows, sans paper. ;) He enjoyed the spontaneity."
You and Wade have been married together for ten years! What marriage advice would you give to other couples?
"There is one single thing that will keep your hubby happy, and that's all between the sheets. Fact. Keep it hot and spicy and it's amazing what wonders it will do in your relationship. Another important thing that I've learned is that I'm the thermostat of the home. So whatever mood I want my home (family) to be in is how I need to be. Keep it positive, encouraging and loving. Wade's advice is to compromise. Find her love language and speak it often."
